Go Milwaukee!!!

Today was a good day for the city of Milwaukee sports teams. Both The Brewers and Admirals won their games tonight.
The Milwaukee Admirals were on the brink of elimination in the 7 game series against the Chicago Wolves. Down 3 games to 1 this was a must win game for the Admirals. Things weren't looking good for them after the first period going down 2 goals and being out shot 11 to 7. But things turned around for them in the second period as they out scored the Wolves 3-2 to come within 1 goal. It doesn't hurt that they out shot Chicago 20 to 13 in the period. At the end of 2 the score was 4-3 Chicago, but the Ad's had the momentum scoring late in the period. They carried that momentum into the third where they shutout Chicago, while getting out shot 7 to 5 but scoring on 2 of those 5 shots. The game winning goal was a power play goal and scored with less than 2 minutes to go in the game. They now come home to the Bradley Center and play on Friday night in another must win game.
The Brewers looked impressive in their win tonight against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. Good pitching by Gallardo, who only pitched 5 innings with 103 pitches, and good hitting overall by the Brewers especially Braun (3 for 4 with a HR) and Escobar (2 for 5 with 2 triples). Even though they won, I am still concerned with the amount of pitches it took Gallardo to get through 5 innings. I know that when you have 10 strikeouts you are going to throw a lot of pitches, but that is far too many pitches to throw in 5 innings. But it was still a good win. They are now 7-7 and looking to go for the sweep tomorrow with Randy Wolf pitching.
I find it funny that the day after I said that Gallardo needed to get things rolling he did. Now hopefully Prince can get out of the slump he is in. He was 1 for 4 tonight and his batting average is at .226, which is pretty bad. The past three years he has gotten off to slow starts in April, so this is nothing new, but its not a good thing, and he needs to get it together, maybe the contract talks are getting to him, maybe hes pressing a little bit, but whatever it is the switch needs to flip. He's gotta get it going.
Ryan Braun, Rickie Weeks, and Casey McGehee are all tearing the cover off the ball, and its particularly impressive to me that Weeks is doing this well. He is picking up right where he left off last year before he got injured. If he continues to go this way, he will be an ALLSTAR along with Braun. He has all the talent and he is on a mission this year to prove the naysayers wrong. A healthy Weeks means a winning Brewers team.
